The Stream Option (Fantasy Football 2020 – Week 4)

The Stream Option is a weekly article where The Undroppables explore the best options at Quarterback, Defense, and Tight End that should be available in most leagues.
*Note: ESPN rostership rates were gathered on 9/30/2020 and may have changed.

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff – LAR vs NYG

Jared Goff is the QB9 through three weeks, including two 20+ point fantasy weeks against Philadelphia and Buffalo in the past two weeks. He plays Week 4 against a Giants defense that has been good against Quarterbacks in fantasy so far. However, Nick Mullens and the 49ers passed for 327 yards last week, and the Giants secondary was expected to be poor before the beginning of the season. For streaming purposes, Jared Goff is only rostered in 45.7% of ESPN leagues. However, as a top 10 fantasy QB, he should be rostered in most, if not all, leagues for the rest of the season.

Joe Burrow – CIN @ JAX

The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently the fifth-worst defense against fantasy quarterbacks, while rookie Joe Burrow is currently the tenth-best fantasy quarterback. Burrow has caught his stride in recent weeks, putting up over 300 yards in each of his last two matchups against Cleveland and Philadelphia. Next week, I expect Burrow to put up similar numbers against the poor Jacksonville secondary. Similar to Goff, Burrow is another option that could be startable throughout the rest of the season and the rookie is still available in 49.3% of ESPN leagues.

Tight Ends

Robert Tonyan – GB vs ATL

The Atlanta Falcons currently rank second-worst in the NFL against the tight end position in fantasy and have given up solid performances to Greg Olsen, Dalton Schultz, and Jimmy Graham. Meanwhile, Packers’ tight end Robert Tonyan has scored in his past two games and is averaging 13.25 points per game after a lackluster week 1 performance. As Tonyan continues to step up his performance and Aaron Rodgers continues to trust him in the passing game, expect Tonyan to continue to produce in fantasy. Also, Packer’s WR Davante Adams is coming off an injury and Tonyan could continue to see an uptick in usage if he is out or limited in week 4. Tonyan is only rostered in 1.5% of ESPN leagues, so he should be available if you need a tight end.

Dalton Schultz – DAL vs CLE

Currently the TE13, Cowboys’ tight end Dalton Schultz is filling in admirably for the injured Blake Jarwin. Shultz has been targeted twenty times so far this season, and with that kind of volume, he has the opportunity for fantasy points every week. Meanwhile, the Browns defense has surrendered the 3rd most points to opposing fantasy tight ends. With the volume Schultz has in the Cowboys’ air attack, he can be an admirable fill-in or stream for managers who lose a tight end to injury throughout the season.

Defenses

Rams D/ST – LAR vs NYG

The Giants have given up the 2nd most points to opposing fantasy defenses, and the combination of the Giants’ poor offensive line and the Rams strong front seven led by Aaron Donald should result in a few fantasy points for the rams defense. With an over/under of only 48, the scoring in this game should be low to average, which will help the Rams D/ST score higher in fantasy. The Rams are only rostered in 58.8% of ESPN leagues, so they should be available to stream this week.

Other Options: Jaguars D/ST (1.3% rostership), Texans D/ST (1.7% rostership)
