Review from Week 5

Chase Claypool – Finished WR43 on the week, decent trim. Kenny Pickett might be willing to sling the football, so I might be wrong on this one. Still behind Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth, and George Pickens is earning targets, it still makes me nervous to start Chase.

Allen Robinson – Finished WR82 on the week, excellent trim. Matthew Stafford is only throwing to Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee.  Allen is washed; this will be the last we hear about it from me!

Darrell Henderson Jr. – Finished RB43 on the week, pretty good trim. Cam Akers had all the rushes, but Darrell had all the receptions.  With 7 points in a PPR league, neither of these backs is startable because of this offensive line.

Matthew Stafford – Finished QB23 on the week, pretty good trim. He faced a tough Cowboys defense and still got a TD and over 300 yards, but not enough, and he barely counted as a QB2 this past week.

The bye weeks are here! With the Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, and Tennessee Titans on bye this week, hopefully, you were trimming your roster to prepare for these and have a deep bench! Let’s get to cutting!

Injuries will make this week tougher to cut and may be more straightforward for you if you are hurting. Read Mike Reedy’s Untangling the Wire this week to ensure you add real value. Then, start your razors; let’s trim up those rosters!

Chase Edmonds (RB – Miami Dolphins)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 88% Ownership
ESPN – 80% Ownership
Sleeper – 84% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – RB42
Week 3 Finish – RB12
Week 4 Finish – RB31
Week 5 Finish – RB80

As the expected lead back for the Miami Dolphins, Raheem Mostert has outplayed Chase Edmonds until Myles Gaskin gets in more touches now.  Edmonds has been touchdown-dependent all year, and now there are fewer opportunities to get those.  Drop him!

Elijah Moore (WR – New York Jets)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 72% Ownership
ESPN – 77% Ownership
Sleeper – 76% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – WR65
Week 3 Finish – WR52
Week 4 Finish – WR44
Week 5 Finish – WR94

With Breece Hall, Tyler Conklin, and Garrett Wilson coming into New York, the lone man out has been Elijah Moore.  He is a very talented WR, and I hope he picks it back up but send him to the waiver wire so you aren’t tempted to start him.

Irv Smith Jr. (TE – Minnesota Vikings)

Rostership Percentages:
Yahoo – 49% Ownership
ESPN – 33% Ownership
Sleeper – 46% Ownership (Includes dynasty)
Season Ranking – TE18
Week 3 Finish – TE29
Week 4 Finish – TE31
Week 5 Finish – TE17

Close to my threshold of being >=50% ownership on a format, I was surprised to see so many people are still rostering Irv Smith.  He is good for 3-4 receptions a week for about 35 yards.  Players like Hayden Hurst and Taysom Hill are out on the waiver and have better seasons.  Please roster them instead of Irv.

I was asked to join a fantasy football league in High School and I haven't been the same since. I love the competitive nature, the communities it builds, and the thinking and content that can be created. I am hoping to connect to larger audiences in helping them grow into becoming knowledgable managers and I am open to discussions.
